Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for filtering process
- Access, interpret and apply filter processes documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Select, and check for faults, equipment/tools for work activities
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the activity
- Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Communicate with other personnel using approved communication methods
- Check and test remote control and monitoring systems for correct operation
- Use approved dust suppression and extraction methods and ensure work area is ventilated
- Start-up equipment in sequence
- Operate and monitor equipment
- Take and interpret data from indicator readings to determine filtering efficiency
- Continuously monitor plant and identify defects and potential problems
- Adjust equipment to approved operating parameters to optimise performance, maintain efficient filtering and to meet product quality targets
- Control feed to equipment
